The Beatles are coming to iTunes say multiple sources

WSJ and Billboard magazine claim deal is done
The Beatles are coming to iTunes say multiple sources

Apple is to announce that it has finally signed a deal to bring The Beatles to iTunes, as part of its "exciting announcement"?teaser, for those who don't already own it on vinyl, tape, CD, or illegal download.

The news, being reported by multiple sources to the Wall Street Journal and Billboard magazine, will see the end to a long running dream of Apple's to eventually sell the Fab Four's complete collection digitally.

Billboard magazine is citing a number sources, and even goes as far as saying that the clocks used to represent the time on the advert on Apple’s homepage are identical to the arms on the “Help” album from The Beatles (which they're not, really). ?

"For starters, the sources in the past that quashed any rumors of an impending Beatles launch are today very quiet, and strangely so. Next is the wording of the teaser on Apple's website. The first line is, "Tomorrow is just another day". As noted earlier,?"Another Day"?is a Paul McCartney song released on his solo record "Ram", but written during the Beatles' "Let it Be" sessions", reports Billboard.

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal is going with the story as confirmed, rather than its usual “sources familiar with the matter”.

“The deal resulted from talks that were taking place as recently as last week among executives of Apple, representatives of the Beatles and their record label, EMI Group Ltd., according to these people, who also warned that there is still a chance that Apple could change plans at the last minute”, Reports the WSJ.

The Beatles' back catalogue being?available electronically has been a goal of Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, for some time, with numerous attempts at making it happen only for it to be called off at the last minute.

The deal, says Billboard magazine, is expected to be an exclusive for Apple’s iTunes service, although the magazine isn't sure for how long.
