Move over Kenny Baker...
Filed under "too cool for school" and "we so want one of these", this video of a homemade R2D2 is currently doing the rounds, and we're very impressed here on Pocket-lint.
Made from a plastic barrel, presumably by YouTube poster dmalford1, the larger-than-life sized replica is equipped with R2's trademark sounds, internal fans, LED bulbs (hard to see in the daylight clip), and a rotating hood.
It's also fitted with motors, making it possibly the coolest mobility scooter you could ever have. Imagine an old-age pensioner pootling along to ASDA in their own astromech droid. "Help me Obi Wan, I seem to have put my hip out, can't get the lid open, and toilet time came about 20 minutes ago".
It'd make for a very different movie.
