If the thought of your kids touching your precious laptop brings you out in a cold sweat, perhaps you need one specifically designed for kids.
That's the hope of Best Buy and Toshiba who've just announced they are about to sell a Toshiba laptop, you know, for kids.
The new Satellite L635 Kids’ PC features a wipeable keyboard and a software and entertainment package designed to keep them quiet.
But before you go thinking that this is some dinky toy, it's not. The L635 Kids’ PC is a full-size laptop made for children aged 5 to 10.
“People today expect well thought out laptop offerings customized to meet their expectations, and partnering with Toshiba makes it possible”.
The Satellite L635 Kids’ PC features a 13.3-inch HD display, a built-in DVD drive and webcam with software designed specially with a younger user in mind.
“The laptop has traditionally been a device conceived and built for adults, and devices currently being marketed to kids are either netbooks or toy-based computers”, said Jeff Barney, vice president and general manager, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division.
The Satellite L635 Kids’ PC is available exclusively at Best Buy from Monday in the US. No word on when it will be coming the UK.
